Indian Defence News – The fourth edition of the bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) amphibious Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025, involving India and the United States, wrapped up with a high-profile Distinguished Visitors’ (DV) Day on April 11, 2025, at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025
The event, attended by senior dignitaries including the Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Naval Area, the US Consul General, the Commander of US Navy Strike Group Five, and the Deputy General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division, highlighted the robust partnership and operational synergy between the two nations’ armed forces.
The exercise’s harbor phase, conducted from April 1 to 7 at Visakhapatnam, kicked off with an opening ceremony attended by Mr. Jorgan K. Andrews, Chargé d'Affaires, US Embassy, and Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command.
This phase featured
- Pre-Sail Conferences,
- Subject Matter Expert Exchanges on medical, drone, and space technologies, as well as
- cross-deck visits,
- ship boarding drills, and
- friendly sports events,
further strengthening bilateral ties.
The DV Day showcased a series of sophisticated operations off Kakinada’s coast, including standoff and hard beaching, slithering operations by Special Operations Forces from Indian Navy’s SC and Mi-17 V5 helicopters, and coordinated air operations involving C-130 aircraft.
These maneuvers, executed seamlessly by the Indian Navy, Army, Air Force, and their US counterparts, demonstrated exceptional jointmanship and interoperability.
Held from April 1 to 11, 2025, Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025 provided critical training in HADR operations while fostering mutual understanding of capabilities, techniques, and procedures.
Initiated in 2019, the exercise leverages the Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) to enhance logistics cooperation and integrate cutting-edge technologies between the two militaries.
Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025 has reaffirmed the commitment of India and the US to collaborative disaster response and maritime security, setting a strong foundation for future joint endeavors in the Indo-Pacific region.
