India Defence News, New Delhi – Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh exhorted the Army Medical Corps (AMC) to continue adopting the latest technologies to deliver high-quality healthcare to soldiers, during his address at the 263rd Corps Day celebrations in New Delhi. Emphasizing the critical role of AMC in ensuring the well-being of the Armed Forces, he lauded their dedication and urged innovation to meet evolving medical challenges.
AMC’s Legacy of Service
Speaking at the event, Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted AMC’s storied history since its establishment in 1762, noting its pivotal role in providing medical support during wars, counter-insurgency operations, and humanitarian missions.
“Your expertise and compassion have saved countless lives, earning the respect of the nation,” he said, commending their service in extreme conditions along India’s borders.
Push for Technological Advancements
The Raksha Mantri stressed the importance of integrating advanced technologies like telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and robotic surgery to enhance healthcare delivery.
“In today’s dynamic environment, adopting cutting-edge tools is essential to provide timely and effective medical care to our soldiers,” he said, urging AMC to stay ahead in medical innovation.

Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi also praised AMC’s role in maintaining the morale and fighting fitness of the forces.
